OK, you are learning to play an instrument - being taught to play the songs you like by your favourite bands and artists
But you can write songs, too!
This course is designed to help you do just that - it will show you how to put chords together in a song - and how to find the right notes for a vocal melody, guitar riff or instrumental hook which will work with those chords
All songs we hear are written in ‘keys’. The key is decided by what notes are used. I'll show you which are the most commonly used chords in a song based around the key of C major.
And then go on to help you work this out for other keys as well.
Why do we need to write songs in different keys?
We use different keys to create contrast between songs
Alternatively, you (or whoever is going to sing your song) may have a voice which is suited to a different key. I'll give you charts to work out quickly and easily which chords work in other keys.
